That is not just Targets ruling - that is actually a part of the Equal Employment Opportunity Law - Title VII here in the United States.
Our company is taking some online training regarding the EEOA laws and this scenario was one of the teaching scenarios.
An employee has the right to refuse service of any type if that service goes against their religious beliefs.
